The Hub The Music of Harry Potter

On June 21 and 22, make your way through Platform 9¾ and hop aboard the Hogwarts Express, as we embark on a magical journey at the Winspear Centre sponsored by Athabasca University to listen to The Music of Harry Potter.

Relive the magic of the films through the illustrious music brought to life by the musical wizardry of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra led by Headmaster Robert Bernhardt. Hear your favourite music from the films—from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone right through to The Deathly Hallows. By the end, you might find yourself feeling like you’ve been hit with the cheering charm! It’s going to be a magical evening, and all muggles are encouraged to dress up as their favourite character from the series.

Get your broomsticks ready because tickets are available here.

Athabasca University students and alumni are able to use an Edmonton Symphony Orchestra/Winspear Centre coupon code to save 15% off of tickets for performances on June 21 and June 22!

Sort yourself

We’ve imagined what Athabasca University’s four faculties would be as Hogwarts Houses based on their own unique features and personalities. While the students at Hogwarts may be sorted by the famous sorting hat, we created a quiz to see where you fit.

Take our sorting quiz to see if your personality fits your faculty. Finishing the quiz gives you an entry to win tickets to the Music of Harry Potter at the Winspear Centre.

Hit the books

Take the magic of Harry Potter online and check out our course Literature for Children. This course introduces students to children’s literature, its history and development, and its rich variety of forms and techniques. Study your childhood favourites such as Charlotte’s Web and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and maybe even discover something new. There’s something for everyone in this course!

“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.”
