The Hub A message from President Neil Fassina

A message from President Neil Fassina

I hope that this message finds each of you safe, healthy, and secure.

In this challenging and unprecedented time, I want to take a moment to thank our learners, alumni, team members and community, and emphasize how proud I am of the way we have all come together to support each other.

I know that it has not been easy to manage our stress, juggle our family commitments, adjust to our “new normal”, worry about and care for our colleagues and our learners, and still remain focused on the work we need to do each day.

I want to assure you that our leaders, at all levels, are doing everything we can to ensure the health, safety, and security of the AU community.

Even though, like many of you, I am working from home, I’ve never felt more a part of our wonderful AU team than I do right now. Collectively, we can slow the transmission of COVID-19 for the betterment of the communities in which we live, work, and support each other. While we are social distancing and, in some cases, self-isolating, this should not mean social isolation. I would encourage everyone to find alternative ways to connect and support each other where we can.

I ask that during this heightened time of stress and separation, that we give each other the benefit of the doubt, trust in the best of people, and treat each other with the utmost respect.

I know these are stressful, difficult, unprecedented times we are facing. But I also know we will get through them together, with the same resilient spirit we have always shown and will continue to show.

If you have questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, I encourage you to visit our COVID-19 site where you will find a number of resources and Q&As.

Take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and each other, and know that your hard work is valued and appreciated.

Please stay healthy and safe!

Respectfully,

Neil Fassina, PhD CPHR ICD.D
