AU launches platform to connect learners and alumni
Athabasca University (AU) has launched Alumni Connect, an online networking and mentoring platform powered by Ten Thousand Coffees, to connect alumni and learners for a career-inspiring virtual coffee.
Tara Friesen, AU’s Manager of Alumni and Community Engagement, said this initiative will give learners the opportunity to network with graduates, and will give alumni an opportunity to build their own networks and give back to the AU community.
“We have learners and alumni spread across the entire country and around the world,” she said. “We’re excited to be able to offer this digital networking opportunity to the AU community, no matter where in the world they call home.”
Alumni Connect is an exclusive networking and mentoring platform that introduces AU learners and recent graduates to fellow learners and alumni, based on specific career interests and goals for an inspiring virtual coffee chat.
Alumni and learners can connect with up to 12 new connections per year to learn, share, and grow. Having a diverse network can accelerate careers, develop networking and communication skills through real-work practice, and enable a greater reach into a global network of AU learners and alumni.
