Announcement: Bow Valley College and Athabasca University Collaboration
Athabasca University and Calgary’s Bow Valley College’s partnership will reduce barriers for learners by offering an innovative, integrated, flexible and efficient means of student learning and evaluation. Today, a Memorandum of Action was signed between us and formalizes our path forward.
Having agreed to establish this critical collaboration, we are focusing our efforts to better align on learning and assessment environments, training and growth opportunities, and the development and fulfilment of integrated academic courses and programs. Bow Valley College and Athabasca University (AU) are excited to take the next step in better service for learners, clients, industries, and communities in Alberta and beyond.
This partnership means removing barriers for our learners, ensuring that they have access to and success in university-level study. Both AU and Bow Valley share a passion for learner success.
There are outcomes for our learners, including learning assessment, skills training, prior learning recognition, and credentialing to help learners reach their fullest potential in their chosen higher education pathway, while still being able to continue contributing to their communities. It means we are being adaptive and responsive to our learners’ needs.
This announcement echoes the standard AU works towards each and every day, reimagining the way we learn and our pathway forward on that learning journey. Partnerships like this one with Bow Valley College are one step further in the right direction to remove barriers for learners in all areas to achieve their goals for post-secondary education.
