PCF10 call for proposals now open

Tenth Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning to be held Sept. 14-16, 2022, in Calgary

PCF10, Calgary Canada

The call for proposals and abstracts for the Tenth Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning (PCF10) is now open.

The forum, which will be hosted jointly by Athabasca University (AU) and Commonwealth of Learning (COL) at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre Sept. 14-16, 2022, will focus on the theme, “Innovations for Educational Resilience.”

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on education and training. In order to build resilient education systems, we must address issues of learning loss due to school closures and lack of access to technology for teaching and learning.

PCF10 will address these issues and reflect a spectrum of ideas, from policy interventions to practical innovations, to build resilience and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

The forum will feature four sub-themes that fall within the main theme: building resilience, fostering lifelong learning, inspiring innovations, and promoting equity and inclusion. In addition, there will be two special focus areas: education for girls and emerging technologies for education and training.

The Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning is held triennially, co-hosted with different partners in different regions of the Commonwealth. The forum explores applications of open and distance learning in widening educational access, bridging the digital divide, and advancing the social and economic development of communities and nations at large.

More information about each of these sub-themes and special focus areas, along with instructions for submitting proposals, can be found on the PCF10 website.

The deadline for submitting proposals is Feb. 15, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
