Please welcome Anne-Marie Scott, Deputy Provost, Academic Operations

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Anne-Marie Scott as Deputy Provost, Academic Operations.

Anne-Marie will join Athabasca University in January 2020.

Anne-Marie Scott currently serves as the Deputy Director of Learning, Teaching, and Web Services at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where she has responsibility for the delivery of institutional learning and teaching platforms, supporting on-campus and distance learning for a community of over 40,000 students and 15,000 staff.

She has 18 years of experience in a variety of progressive roles in Higher Education with significant understanding of online learning in both campus and distance education contexts, and a strong background in administration and service delivery. Her prior work in areas such as identity management and enterprise web portal services mean she brings a rare holistic awareness of the whole online student experience. Amongst her interests are the use of new technologies and the open web in learning, teaching, and student support; scalable online learning models; and learning analytics.

She holds an MA (hons) in English and Scottish Literature, and a PgDip in E-Learning, both from the University of Edinburgh.

Anne-Marie Scott will join Athabasca in January, 2020. At that time, she will assume leadership of the Office of the Registrar, Learner Support Services, and the Centre for Learning Accreditation.

Please join us in welcoming Anne-Marie to the Athabasca University community.
