Convocation 2020: An incredible experience
Athabasca University’s virtual Convocation 2020 was an incredible, inspiring, and unique experience—even if it wasn’t the traditional in-person celebration held in the past.
Congratulations are in order for the 2,264 Athabasca University learners who got their degree, diploma, or certificate at the virtual Convocation on Oct. 2, and to all their friends and family who joined to support them.
“I’m overwhelmed by the positive response to our virtual Convocation 2020. I am so very proud of the way our OneAU team came together to create this special one-of-a-kind experience for us to celebrate this momentous day with all of our grads,” said AU President Dr. Neil Fassina.
The virtual convocation platform gave graduands the opportunity to be part of a truly unique event. They had the opportunity to connect with the professors and classmates, hear from some incredible new honorary doctorates and members of the Order of Athabasca University, and even take virtual tours of the Athabasca campus and art collection.
Capping off the inspirational day was a great performance by Canadian country music duo The Reklaws.
