That’s a wrap on Convocation 2022
Athabasca University’s (AU) convocation ceremonies brought together graduates from across the world to celebrate their achievements
Joined by friends, family, and even pets, on June 17 the AU community celebrated the 1,872 graduates from 40 programs who received a degree, diploma, or certificate. We couldn’t be prouder.
The virtual convocation experience allowed graduands to be part of a truly unique event, including a live presentation of degrees. They had the opportunity to network with their professors and classmates and hear from 2022 Honorary Doctor of Laws recipient, Roy Weasel Fat, and the Governor General’s Academic Gold and Silver Medal winners.
New graduates flipped their tassels from right to left, uploaded hundreds of celebratory images to the photo wall, and shared their proud successes on social media.
Take a peek at how we celebrated the Class of 2022.

Our grads not only inspire us but also the people around them. We asked their families, friends, and AU team members to contribute to a virtual message board and the response was heartwarming!
