Description:

2020 has been quite the year for misinformation on the internet. In light of this, and to celebrate Media Literacy Week, AU Library in conjunction with Alice. B. Donahue Library & Archives, will be hosting this interactive online workshop called “You can’t get a degree from “Google University” critically evaluating internet sources. It will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. MDT

The internet can be an excellent tool for carrying out research, and for finding reliable information and up-to-the minute news and data. But the information you find online has not always been written or created by an expert, nor has it typically been vetted through a traditional publishing or editing process. This means that information found online can be very difficult to verify and to trust, and must be looked at with a critical eye.

This workshop from AU Library will teach you how to evaluate internet resources through a combination of instruction and interactive web-based activities.

This session is open to anyone.
