Case Competitions: Join the Action!

Are you one of our best and brightest business learners? Have you wanted to get more involved with AU? Well, have we got an opportunity for you!

Every year, Athabasca University – Faculty of Business (AU-FB) puts together teams that compete in case competitions. Case competitions are a great way to meet fellow learners, while practically applying and strengthening your skills and knowledge.

It’s a great way to take your online learning – offline!

Who is eligible to participate?

If you’re a full-time AU-FB undergraduate certificate or program learner, please consider applying. It doesn’t matter where you live, so long as you meet the other requirements.

See here for more information on applying and eligibility.

What does competing require of me and my time?

You will meet online every two weeks, beginning in October until mid-December, and the team meetings are facilitated by at least one AU-FB professor and three academic experts.

There are six online sessions, four online presentations, and one in-person practice weekend in January. The two competitions are in March and the teams can compete in more – if they so choose.

What are the benefits for me if I participate?

Not only do you get the chance to meet and work with some of your AU-FB colleagues, but your travel, accommodations, and food are covered. You also could be eligible for course credits!

Still aren’t sure if this is for you? Check out some of our articles on the past competitions:

“This [case competition] was such a fantastic learning experience. We all would recommend that students apply to be part of a case competition. It’s a great way to meet other students and to develop the skills that are sometimes difficult to work on when completing school online.”
