On September 17 and 18, Dr. Faria Sana joined CTV Morning Live Edmonton and Calgary to discuss the cognitive science of learning and explain why the study habits we’ve always done, may be hindering study success.

Faria connected with the hosts virtually through Skype to discuss what the cognitive science of learning is, how we should re-learn how to learn, and why the study techniques typically used aren’t necessarily the right ones for content retention.

She also provided a few more tips to enhance your studying techniques to help retain information better and more effectively.

“Ditch your highlighters and this idea that reading somethingrepeatedlywould help you recall that information later.It won’t. These are fluent strategies that make you think you are learning, but they are not effective,” she said.
