The Hub In memoriam

Athabasca University (AU) is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Lisa Priebe who had deep roots within the AU community. She was an AU tutor, alumna, past president of the Athabasca University Students’ Union (AUSU), and Order of Athabasca inductee.

Dr. Priebe joined AU in 2011 as a psychology instructor for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree with AU. During her undergraduate years, she contributed greatly to the university through her involvement with AUSU as a councillor, member of the Athabasca University Governing Council, then president, and member of the AUSU mentor committee. She also founded the AU Science Students’ Society.

In 2011, she was inducted into the Order of Athabasca University in recognition of her dedication to ensuring a high-quality student experience at AU through her contributions during her undergraduate years and then as a member of the AU team.

Dr. Priebe was deeply involved throughout her education and work with AU, and her contributions will not be soon forgotten.

She will be sadly missed and AU offers condolences to her loved ones, colleagues, and learners.
