PowerED™ launches ‘The Uplift,’ a course curated by and for our community

To help alleviate some of the pressures imposed by the current COVID-19 pandemic, PowerED™ by Athabasca University is announcing the launch of a dynamic and collaborative approach to sourcing and crafting new course content.

Called “The Uplift,” the campaign will ask individuals and businesses to contribute novel ideas for course topics supporting their own needs and skills to adapt to ever-changing business and work environments.

Whether working remotely, pivoting on a key offering, or defining a new value proposition, leaders and their teams are being asked to rapidly develop new approaches and skill sets for which traditional pedagogical offerings may not be sufficient.

Once produced, the new course will be offered free of charge to anyone who may benefit. The individual who submits the topic suggestion that is selected to model the course will win free access to nearly all PowerED™ course offerings* for one full year!

We value our community and want to hear directly from our learners and businesses on what skills they need right now, to persevere during this dynamic and difficult time. Just like our local businesses, we were called to rise to the challenge of the moment,” said Jessica Scott, Director, PowerED™.

“Last May, we launched a free, online, and on-demand Navigating Extraordinary Times course during the early stages of the pandemicThousands of learners enrolled, claimed their digital badge, and provided kind words on the value the course content provided in the moment. Its impact emphasized the need for us to offer something for our community again.”

“The Uplift campaign enables us to demonstrate our commitment to supporting professionals and businesses. It also shows that we are listening to what our community needs and that the programming of the future has to be agile, relevant and address real needs in order to be impactful.”

The Uplift will launch on PowerED’s LinkedIn page on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. PowerED™ is aiming to deliver its first crowd-sourced course in July 2021.
