AU students to benefit from mental health resources

"Character is power."

Booker T. Washington was part of the last generation born into slavery in the U.S. A leader in the African-American community, Washington became an important voice for former slaves. An educator and adviser to Theodore Roosevelt and William Taft, Washington's place in American and Black American history is cemented as he was the founder of Tuskegee University and the National Negro Business League.

To celebrate Black History Month, Athabasca University Library and Scholarly Resources is sharing a collection of materials to learn about Black history and culture. This curation includes 1619, the popular New York Times podcast about how slavery forever changed America, the web series "Talking to kids about racism," and a curated list of anti-racism resources.
